Woman arrested for arson after house fire

On Friday, April 21, 2023, at approximately 2:11 a.m., DeLand police officers were dispatched to a structure fire at 517 E. Walts Avenue. 

Officers arrived on scene and found the single-family home fully engulfed in flames. The DeLand Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire. 

During the investigation, it was determined the resident, 63-year-old Gina White, (06/02/1960), intentionally set the home on fire. 

The Criminal Investigations Division and the State Fire Marshal’s Bureau of Fire Arson and Explosives responded to the scene. 

White was placed under arrest and transported to the Volusia County Jail Branch. She is charged with Arson of a Structure.
