UPDATE: The victim in a homicide on Frankfort Avenue has been identified as Clinton Dorsey (DOB: 07/28/72).
The preliminary investigation has revealed the suspect, Travis McBride, shot the victim in the 100 block of Frankfort Avenue. Responding units found Dorsey’s body in the trunk of the suspect’s car.
Detectives have determined McBride and Dorsey were known to each other and had an ongoing dispute.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. We would like to thank the community for their cooperation with this investigation.

UPDATE 1/19: The suspect in this case has been identified as Travis McBride (DOB: 07/17/1977). McBride is charged with First Degree Murder (Premeditated) and is being held in the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond. Further information about this incident will be released as it becomes available.
Units were dispatched at 7:06 a.m. this morning to a home in the 100 block of S. Frankfort Avenue in response to a suspicious incident.
During the investigation, police canvassed the area and located a body nearby. A suspect has been taken into custody.
Investigators believe this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. The deceased individual’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
This is an active investigation as detectives work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
