Sergeant David Stimpson was awarded a quilt from the Quilts of Valor Foundation at a ceremony on March 30th. The Quilts of Valor Foundation gives service members and veterans handmade quilts to thank them for their service, sacrifice, and valor in serving our nation.
Sergeant Stimpson served in the United States Army before joining the DeLand Police Department where he has served for over 10 years. The quilt was presented to Sergeant Stimpson by Captain Francisco Williams and Lieutenant Nick Mathis. He was joined by his family and several members of DPD to celebrate receiving this wonderful gift. We are grateful for his service to the citizens of the United States and the citizens of DeLand.
