
Today, DPD had the honor of promoting three officers that will become effective tomorrow Saturday, April 23rd, 2022.
Lieutenant Michael Quinn has been promoted to the rank of Captain of the Field Operations Bureau. The Field Operations Bureau includes the entirety of the Patrol Operations Division, Special Operations Division, and Special Services Unit. Captain Quinn has been with the DeLand Police Department for 25 years. Captain Quinn most recently served as the Lieutenant of the Special Operations Division.
Sergeant Brian Kearney has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant of the Patrol Operations Division. Lieutenant Kearney has been with the DeLand Police Department for nearly 22 years. He has most recently served as the department's Quartermaster.
Sergeant David Stimpson has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant within the Personnel Selection/Training Division within the Professional Standards Bureau. The Personnel Selection/Training Division handles the recruitment and training of all DeLand Police Department officers. Lieutenant Stimpson has been with the DeLand Police Department for over 10 years and most recently served as a Patrol Sergeant.
In total, these three officers have nearly 60 years of combined service to the City of DeLand. Chief Jason Umberger is proud to have these three strong leaders at the helm of the department along with the rest of DPD's command staff.
