In an effort to foster safety and community connection, members of Alpha Squad with the DeLand Police Department recently responded to a tip regarding a new temporary small business operating within a local neighborhood, run entirely by a group of young entrepreneurs.
Dubbed “Operation Hydration,” the initiative turned out to be a charming and successful youth-run refreshment stand. Officers visited the business to ensure that it was operating safely and in line with community standards.
Not only did the stand meet every expectation, it exceeded them. Officers found it well-organized, clean, and most importantly, serving up cold, delicious treats perfect for the summer heat.
To celebrate their hard work and entrepreneurial spirit, the children were treated to a few special surprises from DPD. Officers gave them a tour of a patrol cruiser, and K9 Midnight made an exciting appearance. The young business owners also received DPD wristbands and stickers as tokens of appreciation.
Alpha Squad commends these young residents for their positive contribution to the neighborhood and looks forward to seeing more community-driven efforts like this in the future.
Operation Hydration wasn’t just refreshing, it was a resounding success!
