DPD Youth Cadets Honored to Participate in Ceremony Honoring Fallen Law Enforcement Officers
This past Wednesday, July 20th, members of the DeLand Police Department Youth Cadets and Honor Guard were pleased to assist with a memorial service held at the International Conference of Police Chaplains being held this week in Orlando. This memorial service paid tribute to law enforcement officers that have been killed in the line of duty since the last conference held.
Our Youth Cadet program is comprised of youth from the Greater West Volusia Area who are between the ages of 12 to 20. The Cadets meet every Tuesday night in the DeLand Police Department Community Room at 7 pm. The program is open to all youth with a willingness to serve the DeLand area and learn about the public safety field.
