DPD Participates in Farmworkers Climate and Wellness Campaign

Last week, members of DPD participated in a Climate and Wellness Campaign alongside the Volusia Recovery Alliance, Pierson Farmworker's Association, Farmer Workers Association of Florida, and the Volusia Sheriff's Office.
During the two-day campaign, participants met with farmworkers in the Pierson area to provide education and assistance on to stay safe while working in extreme conditions. Participants provided the community members with bandanas, ponchos, and cold water. Education and training was also provided on overdose response, and community members were given Narcan in case they were in a situation where it was necessary.
