DPD Community Engagement Unit Conducts Distracted Driving Course for City Employees

This past Thursday, March 10th, the Community Engagement Unit with the DeLand Police Department hosted two Distracted Driving prevention classes for our City employees which was sponsored by the city's Risk Management Office.

The 30 minute class was a friendly reminder to discuss the current city's policy and  state law on distracted driving and how easily we all fall into the trap because of electronics in a vehicle or driver distractions. The Community Engagement Unit with the Police Department works regularly with the Risk Management Office to sponsor safety classes to help keep our city staff safe and ready to help serve our great city.
