DeLand police officers have made additional arrests in connection with the rash of car break-ins impacting our city.
Early Monday, our officers worked diligently to apprehend and arrest three individuals believed to be involved in the incidents. All three subjects are juveniles.
These arrests are in addition to several arrests our officers made over the past week in connection with car burglaries. All subjects are juveniles.
DPD encourages parents to talk with their children about the consequences these crimes can have.
Our department wants to ensure the community we are working hard to reduce these crimes by holding those accountable and actively engaging in proactive measures.
Recently, we launched a ‘9 PM routine’ campaign to remind residents about the importance of locking up their car doors. In a majority of these cases, cars are unlocked.
We encourage you to make it a habit of locking up every night. The simple tasking of securing your vehicle can protect you from becoming the next victim.
