Today, we take a moment to proudly recognize and honor the remarkable women who serve in law enforcement. Across Florida and right here in DeLand, women officers are an essential part of policing, bringing leadership, resilience, and dedication to their work each and every day.
On this National Police Woman Day, we celebrate not only their service but also their role in shaping the future of public safety. Women in uniform bring unique perspectives and skills to law enforcement, helping build stronger community relationships and ensuring that compassion and integrity remain at the forefront of policing. Their presence reflects progress in creating a profession that is inclusive, diverse, and representative of the communities we serve.
Jennifer “Cookie” Pritt, Executive Director of the Florida Police Chiefs Association, shared a message of gratitude:

DeLand Police Chief Jason Umberger also praised the women serving locally.

National Police Woman Day is an important reminder that the progress and strength of law enforcement depends on the contributions of women who continue to break barriers, set high standards, and lead with honor.
