15 dogs surrendered to City of DeLand after attack

(DeLand, FL) - A total of 15 dogs including 12 puppies were surrendered to the City of DeLand Animal Control after a man was attacked by at least one of the canines Wednesday morning.

Animal Control officers responded to 800 block of South Thompson Street after three dogs from 409 1/2 West Beresford had been on the loose and two of them are believed to have attacked a man identified as 60-year-old Donald Bobble. Bobble suffered multiple punctures to his right hand, knee, leg and left ankle. He was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The officers informed the owner, May Martin, of the incident that had occurred and it was determined "Reindeer", a gray adult female pitbull and "Briskco", a gray adult male pit bull were likely aggressors while "Bella", a juvenile gray female pit bull was likely not involved in the attack.

It was also learned that "Reindeer" had given birth recently to 12 puppies and were later found underneath the porch of the residence at West Beresford.

The three dogs and the 12 puppies were taken to the city's kennel. Martin was cited for the incident.
