DeLand, FL- On June 23, 2025, around 3:35 p.m., a black Chevrolet car, driven by an adult male, was traveling northbound on South Woodland Boulevard as it approached the intersection of Gilbert Street. At that time, a juvenile female riding a scooter was attempting to cross South Woodland Boulevard and was subsequently struck by the vehicle.
The juvenile was transported to HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital with suspected life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet remained on scene and did not report any injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation. The roadway was opened a little before 5:00 p.m.
Original post: DeLand, FL (06/23/25) – The DeLand Police Department is currently investigating a traffic accident that has resulted in the closure of South Woodland Boulevard Northbound from Taylor Road to New Hampshire Avenue.
Emergency crews are on scene, and the roadway will remain closed until it is deemed safe to reopen. Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
