DeLand Police investigating possible threat at DeLand High School
February 23, 2018
(DeLand, FL) - DeLand Police were informed Thursday afternoon of a possible threat made on social media regarding a planned Friday walkout at DeLand High School.
Detectives interviewed multiple students and were unable to determine the origin of the post though at this time we do not believe the threat to be credible.
As a precautionary measure, multiple DeLand Police officers have been assigned to DeLand High School and detectives continue to work with school officials and are continuing to talk to students.
We’d like to remind people if there is a perceived threat or if they see something suspicious on campus, please contact law enforcement. Residents may also call the DeLand PD at 386-626-7400 or leave an anonymous tip at delandpd.com.
