DeLand PD welcomes two new officers

This week, we welcomed two new police officers to our ranks - Caleb Jones and Bobby Winland!

Caleb was born in Missouri and moved to Florida when he was six months old. Upon graduating high school, Caleb attended Heartland Baptist Bible College. Caleb was hired on cadet status while attending the police academy at Daytona State College. Caleb is fulfilling his lifelong dream of following in the footsteps of his father, who is an Orange City Police Detective. He is engaged to his fianceé Hannah.

Bobby was born in Pennsylvania. He moved to DeLeon Springs with his family at the age of one. After graduating high school, he enlisted the United States Marine Corps. As a combat engineer, he served two tours in Afghanistan and one in Bahrain. Bobby’s awards are as follows: Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation (2), Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (2), National Service Defense Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (w/2 Stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (Bahrain), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (4), NATO Medal – ISAF Afghanistan. Bobby was sponsored to the police academy at Daytona State College by the DeLand Police Department. Bobby has a son, Killian, age 3.
