(DeLand, FL) - A new service offered by the DeLand Police Department will allow people involved in automobile accidents to retrieve a copy of the crash report online.
In an effort to save people an extra trip to the police department, all crash reports will be available for a small fee after it is filed with the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Typically, the report is available three business days after a traffic incident.
Citizens may still come to the police department to get copy of the crash report, free of charge.
Also, as a courtesy, those involved with a crash in the city will receive an accident exchange sheet, which will provide preliminary information on all parties involved, an incident number and phone number to call after three business days to see if the final crash report has been completed.
