An elderly gentleman was approach by two black males in the parking lot of the post office.  The males claimed to have recently arrived from Sudan and were doing a fundraiser for veterans.  The black males claimed to have already raised $10,000 and needed only $6,000 more.  They convinced the elderly male to withdraw the $6,000 from his bank account.  Unfortunately, the elderly gentleman was the victim of a scam.

Scammers, grafters, and con artists will often choose their victims in parking lot situations such as the above case.  By taking advantage of conversation, building a rapport and then applying pressure they are able to scam victims out of cash.

Please be alert for parking lot scams and other forms of fraud often perpetrated on the elderly.
