While on routine patrol, officer observed a vehicle run a stop sign. While attempting to stop the vehicle, the officer also noticed that the tag light was out. Vehicle finally stopped in the driveway of a house. Subject exited the vehicle with a black bag and walked away from officer. During this time the officer was asking the subject to get back into the vehicle. Once the subject turned around to face the officer and try to walk away, he was no longer is in possession of the bag. When the subject tried to pass the officer, the officer tried to take him into custody. After a few minutes of resisting, he was finally detained. Once other officers arrived the arresting officer located the back bag on the ground near where the subject turned around. When the officer inventoried the bag, narcotics and paraphernalia were contained within. Subject was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail. After arrival at the jail, during their search, more narcotics were found on his person, therefore another charge was added to his arrest.
