On 01/01/2018 officers received a phone call from a concerned citizen stating that there was “some type of suspicious activity or drug transaction happening” and it was occurring at 820 S. Boundary Avenue. The citizen stated that a gray Mustang occupied by a black male and a silver in color Challenger were parked at this abandoned house and it appeared that they were exchanging small packages and money. The citizen stated that that the two men were acting very suspicious and kept looking around. Officers drove by the residence and was conducting extra patrol when the defendant who was in the gray ford mustang continued through an intersection and did not stop. Officers tried conducting a traffic stop but the driver did not comply and instead drove to a residence in the Candlelight Oaks subdivision. The defendant ran away from the vehicle and was fleeing into the home, officers on scene yelled multiple times for the defendant to stop but he failed to comply. The defendant was arrested after officers were able to gain access, he was taken to the branch jail without further incident.
