On October 7th, 2018 at around 10:33 am, while conducting routine patrol Deland Police Officers observed the suspect vehicle driving recklessly and unable to maintain a lane. Also observed what a tail light was broken on the suspect vehicle. The vehicle tag came back with multiple involvements with law enforcement including counterfeit money, narcotics and fleeing. A traffic stop was conducted with lights and sirens. When the vehicle was coming to a stop in a parking spot officers observed the driver toss something out the window of the vehicle. When officers approached the vehicle they observed a syringe on the ground they requested the suspect to step out of the vehicle and when he did he stumbled and was unable to stand upright. The officers observed in plain view a bag of a leafy substance on the passenger floor board . They tested both the syringe contents and the leafy substance and determined both to be narcotics. The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail with out incident.
